Veterans advances to Elite Eight for first time in school history

The 17-3 Veterans Warhawks defeated the Glynn Academy Terrors 1-0 in the GHSA AAAAA Second Round

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – On Wednesday at Freedom Field in the GHSA AAAAA Second Round, the Veterans Warhawks boys’ soccer team defeated the Glynn Academy Terrors 1-0 to advance to the Elite Eight for the first time in school history.

Senior Striker Jackson Smith scored the game’s lone goal on a cross to the middle from Junior Cameron Laris with just 59 seconds remaining in the game.

The Warhawks will be back at Freedom Field Tuesday to host River Ridge in the GHSA AAAAA Quarterfinals for a shot at the Final Four.
