Old Book Sale Week in Houston County starts Thursday

Since the first book sale, in 2005, FOTL has given the Houston County Library System $539,500.

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Old Book Sale in Houston County at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry gets underway on Thursday.

Inside the Baby Barn, attendees will have more than 90,000 books and 60 categories to choose from.

This is the 20th year of the book sale, which is hosted by Houston County Friends of the Library (FOTL).

Book sale days and hours:

Thursday:  10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday:  9 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Saturday:  9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All books are half priced-on Saturday.

Georgette Lipford, President of Friends of the Library, says money from the sale goes directly to the Houston County Library System.

In 2024, FOTL gave the Houston County Library System nearly $38,000.

Since the first book sale, in 2005, FOTL has given them $539,500.
