MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A weak cold front has moved into Georgia overnight. Northwesterly flow will begin to set up both at the surface and above in the atmosphere behind the Screenshot 2025 04 15 070526cold front and parent trough. Winds are expected to be breezy behind the front, with gusts between 25 to 30 mph across the state. Wind gusts as high as 35 mph cannot be ruled out. Cooler temperatures and drier air will also return in the wake of the front, with highs expected to be in the 60s in areas north and west. Elsewhere across the area, where cooler air has not had enough time to settle in, highs will rise into the 70s. Relative humidity values are expected to drop below 25 percent across most of north and Middle Georgia during the afternoon. I would not be surprised if at least a Fire Danger Statement  will be issued later day. (considering the breezy winds and dry fuels).  Low temperatures Tuesday night into Wednesday morning are forecast to drop into the upper 30s to low 40s.
