Update: Former State Senator Robert Brown Dies from Apparent Suicide

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones confirmed to 41 NBC that former Georgia State Senator Robert Brown killed himself with a gunshot to the head. Police found Brown around 5 p.m. at his home at 1435 Briarcliff Road.

The moments leading up to Former Senator Robert Brown’s suicide remain unclear. The Bibb County Coroners Office says Brown was dead for several hours before being found. After Brown’s out of town family members grew concerned, they contacted his attorney, David Oedel, who went to Brown’s house and ultimately called police.
