Man faces charges after attempting to flee with gun during traffic stop
According to deputies, they stopped Joseph Edward Dawley on Worsham Avenue, due to no tag and only one working taillight.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is taken into custody Wednesday night, after Bibb County deputies say he ran from them during a traffic stop.
According to deputies, they stopped Joseph Edward Dawley on Worsham Avenue, due to no tag and only one working taillight.
Deputies say he pulled into a driveway almost hitting a front porch, jumped out of the vehicle with a handgun attempting to flee, and then dropped the firearm.

Dawley was then taken into custody, and the gun was found to be stolen.
He’s charged with theft by receiving stolen property, probation violation, receipt, possession or transfer of a firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says a search warrant will be issued for the vehicle he was driving, and additional charges are pending in the case.
