MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County School District is looking for vendors based in Middle Georgia and south Atlanta, according to Executive Director of Procurement, Dr. Elaine Wilson-Beverly.

For business owners, that means a chance to find contracts and networking opportunities. Dr. Wilson-Beverley tells us that BCSD hires vendors for jobs like construction, maintenance, consulting, supplies and more. The school district’s website shows which contracts are currently available. As of March 20 of 2025, BCSD is also looking to for suppliers of lab supplies and ID cards.

Dr. Wilson-Beverly adds that some vendors come from farther parts of Georgia, but most are already based within a 75 miles radius of Macon-Bibb County. She tells 41NBC that hiring locally can speed up response times to issues like broken air conditioning or burst pipes and reduce costs for the district.

On Thursday, BCSD held a vendor fair.  Dr. Wilson Beverly says the annual event aims to attract and inform business owners.

“So we’re really looking for small minority community partnerships,” said Dr. Wilson-Beverly. “So we’re trying to make sure we advocate for how we can increase that every year and we want to give them an opportunity to understand and know exactly what we require as a vendor and then what they need to do to be able to partner with us for the services that we’re rendering.”

Vendors can can find more information through their website, including their policies regarding vendors.
