Macon Employee Out of Job Because of I.T. Investigation
An employee with the city of Macon is out of a job. This comes after a crime that happened earlier this year in the city’s I.T. Department. Thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen from the department back in March of this year.
Employees of Macon’s I.T. Department noticed their inventory shrinking in February of this year and told police. Authorities found that more than 50 computers were stolen, along with other I.T. equipment. Now a city worker is no longer employed because of the ongoing theft investigation.
“It is our understanding that one employee was either fired or resigned because of this incident,” said Mike Cranford of Macon City Council.
