Johnson Co. Family Thankful to be Alive after Storm Hits Home and Business
Trees snapped in half and roofs torn apart that’s what residents in Johnson County are dealing with after violent storms ripped through their area.
For the Sweat Family business on Thursday is anything but an ordinary day at the office; employees are cleaning up after Wednesday’s chaotic storm.
“We knew we were suppose to get some rain and thunderstorms,” says Nathan Oliver, but he says no one expected the storm to be so severe.
Wain Sweat, owner of Sweats Portable Business, says the storm lasted only a few minutes. “I thought part of the house blew off. It happened before I had time to get scared,” says Sweat.
After the storm settled he went to investigate the noise. “I heard water hitting on the cement. I know something came through the house then,” says Sweat.
