Hollywood Minute: The longest “Avatar” movie yet

James Cameron’s Next ‘Avatar’ Film Could Be His Longest Yet.

CNN-  James Cameron is no stranger to making blockbuster films—or long ones. His upcoming sequel, Avatar: Fire and Ash, set for release in December, may be his longest movie yet. In an interview with the UK film outlet Empire, Cameron revealed that the new film will surpass the runtime of Avatar: The Way of Water, which was three hours and 12 minutes long. He admitted the previous film moved “like a bullet train” and didn’t spend enough time on character development. If Fire and Ash exceeds the length of The Way of Water, it could challenge Cameron’s longest film to date—Titanic, which ran three hours and 14 minutes.

Meanwhile, a new documentary shines a light on the late actor Rutger Hauer. Like Tears in Rain, named after Hauer’s iconic improvised line from Blade Runner, offers a rare glimpse into the private life of the Dutch actor. The film features interviews with his wife, friends, and colleagues, as well as personal archive footage. Like Tears in Rain premieres Thursday, March 13, on Viaplay.
