Two arrested after attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison

On February 26 around 11:30 p.m., deputies patrolling the Davisboro area spotted several suspicious vehicles near the area close to the Washington State Prison.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people were arrested after an attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison on Wednesday, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

On February 26 around 11:30 p.m., deputies patrolling the Davisboro area spotted several suspicious vehicles near the area close to the Washington State Prison. The deputy approached one of the vehicles and encountered a man and a woman with a large drone with packages zip-tied to the bottom.

38-year-old Shantavia Glass of Clarkston and 55-year-old Eddie Williams of Stone Mountain were arrested. Glass and Williams were charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule 2 drug, and six counts of trading with inmates.
