The deal would establish a U.S.-Ukraine fund to manage revenues from the country’s valuable mineral deposits, which include titanium, lithium, graphite, and uranium. These minerals are essential for industries such as electric vehicle production and nuclear energy.

U.S. consumer confidence plunged in February, marking its sharpest drop in more than four years, as fears over inflation and a potential trade war weighed on sentiment. The Conference Board reported that its index fell more than expected in January, with expectations for income, business conditions, and the job market sinking to levels typically associated with a recession.
