Robins Air Force Base Cuts Energy Costs
Today wraps up Energy Awareness month, and Robins Air Force base is taking extra steps to cut down on energy costs year round.
More than 25 thousand people work at robins air force base and each year the base spends millions of dollars on energy costs. During the past year the base has reduced its energy consumption by 2.5 percent. The base’s goal is to reduce its energy consumption by 30 percent during the next 4 years.
“The big thing is reminding our folks that everything they do everyday can make a difference in energy. The simple thing of turning off your lights when You walk out of the room, turning off your computer monitors at night but leaving the processors on at night so they can still do upgrades” said Otis Hicks Jr, Director.
The base wants to reduce its water intensity by 26 percent during the next 10 years.
