Macon Makes List of 30 Brokest U.S. Cites

A news website called “The Daily Beast” listed the 30 brokest cites in America and the city of Macon made the list along with 3 other Georgia Cities. Four Georgia cities made the list. The city of Macon is ranked number fourteen. Columbus Georgia is listed as number one, Augusta is number ten and Savannah is number twenty-five. The average household income in Macon is around 37 thousand. Write in candidate for Macon Mayor David Cousino also heard about Macon being on the list. He says Macon’s population is declining.

“We got to be precise with what we do from here out, so the people will have confidence in our city, confidence within our leaders, and confidence with our city counsel. This is something we lost; this is why we are losing the people” said David Cousino.

” Everything is closing down, every thing is shutting down and it’s really sad to see Macon going down. Macon is my hometown and I think we should bring jobs back” said Lisa Paul.

The Daily Beast says, the Average personal debt here in Macon is around 23 thousand. Both Texas and Florida have 5 cities listed in the top 30.
