Animal Lovers Spend the Day Encouraging SPLOST Vote

Animal lovers in Bibb County are urging voters to support the SPLOST. Monday morning several SPLOST supporters waved signs in front of the Kroger on Zebulon Road with their four-legged friends in hopes of encouraging residents to vote in favor of the penny tax.

Event organizer, Calder Pinkston, says, “These dogs have brought their people today to ask everybody to support this SPLOST for a new animal shelter. It’s important for our community in so many ways…the SPLOST is needed to move Macon forward,”

If the tax passes it will create $190 million in revenue. $3 million will go build a new animal control shelter.
