Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigating bomb threat on Tuesday morning

Deputies responded to the Gateway Plaza just after 9 a.m. on February 11 in response to a bomb threat.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a bomb threat was made Tuesday morning, according to a news release.

Deputies responded to the Gateway Plaza just after 9 a.m. on February 11 in response to a bomb threat.

According to the news release, deputies were able to evacuate all employees and patrons inside of the building and set a perimeter surrounding the area to avoid anyone approaching the building. The E.O.D. Unit performed a sweep of the building, and no potential threats had been found.

Everyone is safe and there were no injuries reported. The incident is under an active investigation.
