Two Men Dead in West Macon Shooting

Two men are dead after a deputy involved shooting in West Macon. It happened around 10:45 Thursday evening.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, one man broke into a home at 4742 Brookhaven Road near Eisenhower Parkway, and shot and killed the man who lived there. Bibb County Deputies then shot and killed the man who broke into the home.

Glen Edward Moore was running naked down Brookhaven Road banging on resident’s doors. According to officers, Moore kicked down the door of 75-year-old Henry Mitchum and shot and killed him.

When the deputy arrived on scene, Moore refused to put his gun down and then pointed it at the deputy, who then opened fire on Moore.

The deputy has been placed on administrative leave while this is under investigation.
