Temporary Bibb and Peach County Road Closures due to Weather Conditions

The Bibb County Sheriff Office is advising all drivers to avoid I-75 NB/SB along with I-475 due to current road conditions.  

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Due to historic snow fall on Bibb and Peach County streets, some roads have been shut down. 

The Bibb County Sheriff Office is advising all drivers to avoid I-75 NB/SB along with I-475 due to current road conditions.  

They say they are working with GDOT to get all roads back open. 

At this moment, they don’t have an estimated time for when the roads will be safe for travel.  

Peach County EMA director Ryan Roberts says roads from Highway 96 to Fort Valley are shut down temporarily. 

Roberts stated that there haven’t been many accidents, just cars sliding off the road ways. 

They are asking all drivers to beware of bridges and overpasses due to black ice forming.   

The public is asked to limit all travel until further notice of road conditions.
