Two Arrested in Murder of Elderly Baldwin County Man

Macon Police arrest two people in the murder of an elderly Baldwin County man, and one of the suspects is his stepdaughter.

23-year-old Ashleigh Ricks and her boyfriend, 36-year-old Andre Brown are accused of robbing and killing 72-year-old Mandle Charlie Waters,
whose body was found in his car last Friday.

Baldwin County deputies say Waters was shot in the back and left to die in the car. The suspects stole money, a wallet and phone from the victim.

“The investigation is still ongoing; in fact, we recovered what we think to be the murder weapon–it’s at the state crime laboratory right now, matching the ballistics, and we’re following other leads and trying to document other evidence,” says Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee.

The victim apparently raised Ricks from the time she was a baby.

Both are charged with felony murder and armed robbery, with an additional charge against Andre Brown for illegal possession of a firearm.
