Stone Academy Kids Performing in Opera

Tonight, children at Macon’s Stone Academy are putting on their dancing shoes, and getting ready to hit theaters for a four day performance.

After six weeks of learning the moves, and creating the costumes, the kids are ready to perform in the children’s opera, “A Muskrat Lullaby.”

“The theme of the opera is the transformative power of music,” says Director Martha Malone, Mercer Opera.

It’s a message teachers hope will open the realm of possibility for these young performers.
