MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Over at Terminal Station preparation is currently underway for the ‘Christmas Feast and Toy Giveaway’ happening tomorrow on Christmas Eve.

Volunteers started wrapping gifts earlier today while even more were being unloaded.

The event is sponsored by Lois Taylor Institute of Excellence, Anissa Jones, and her mother Sandra Bryant.

“This is probably the most rewarding thing that I’ve ever done in my life,” said Sandra Bryant, Organizer of the Event. “It’s not only the point that we’re doing this to help others, but we’re just doing what we’re supposed to be doing, what we all should be doing and that’s helping somebody else.”

“We want to see the kids, we want to see the moms. We want to see everybody,” said Bryant.

“We want to make sure that we are a bridge for families during this time,” said Anissa Jones, Representative for Georgia House District 143. “Everybody deserves to have a happy holiday.”

“We have been doing this for quite some time and we do it in honor of her parents, my grandparents, hence the name of the organization,” she said. “If you need anything, just make sure you’re down here. Those that want to volunteer, we have opportunities for you to do that as well. Come on down here, you can come on down here now.”

If you want to help out it’s not too late they will be there tomorrow still preparing starting at 8 a.m. and starting at 11 a.m. meals will be served to those in need and toys given to children in the community lasting until 5 p.m.

“I would be so proud to see where everybody’s pitching in as a total community,” said Jones. “To make sure that the least among us are fed, the least among us are having the same type of holiday that we’re having ourselves, so that’s important to us.”
