Genesis Joy House to host Annual Toy Drive Gift Pick-Up, honor local veterans

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Genesis Joy House is hosting the 8th Annual Toy Drive Gift Pick-Up to help local veterans during the holiday season.
The event is on December 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The toy drive will be at Genesis Joy House Homeless Shelter, located at 501 Marshall in Warner Robins.

Santa Claus will be at the event, and there will be treats for guests.
Marketing Co-Chair at Genesis Joy House, Addison Bearden, says there is a large need for volunteers and donations to help serve the organization.
Bearden says donors are offered free exclusive access to a new digital community that connect people to push forward the mission of supporting unhoused veteran women and offer resources with training courses in essential skills.
Youth Ambassador Director at Genesis Joy House, Dairlyn Brown, says they have a program focused on STEM.
Brown says the goal is to better prepare students to handle real-world problems such as homelessness. Brown adds that these skills are valuable across a wide range of STEM fields, giving students a strong foundation for future academic and professional success.
