Northeast High School football team competes for its first state championship, with the Red Machine Marching Band cheering them on.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- This morning, the Northeast High School football team and the Red Machine Marching Band hit the road for Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The football team will face Toombs County in the Single A Division One state championship game, set to kick off today at 1 p.m.
It’s a historic moment for Northeast as the team competes for its first-ever state title. Supporting them every step of the way is the school’s celebrated band, which loaded up their instruments earlier this morning to bring the energy and music the community has come to love.
Band Booster President Yuleshia Farrar expressed her excitement and pride, calling the championship run a true reflection of hard work and community spirit.
“These kids have worked very hard to get where they have. It’s dedication. They’ve prayed their way through it. All of them have been a team, from the coaches, to the football players, the band, the cheerleaders, to the fans. And all over Bibb County. So, it’s a great day to be a Raider,” said Farrar.
The Northeast High School community is rallying behind its players, coaches, band members, and fans as they hope to bring home a state title for the first time in school history.
