After Nearly a Decade of Waiting New Power Plant in Toomsboro to Bring Jobs

It’s been almost a decade in the making, but soon a new power company will soon break ground in Toomsboro. The new 23 acre business will add 78 jobs to the town of around 420.

Residents of Toomsboro say not a lot happens in their small town. “There’s nothing here, basically like 3 businesses in the whole entire town,” says Store owner Deena Thompson.

Thompson says building up the town’s economy has been tough. “We use to have 5 or 6 stores here, and we’re down to 1 now. It’s been really bad,” says Thompson.
