Clothing the G.A.P. holiday drive currently underway

The donated clothing will be given away on December 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – If you’ve been looking for a way to clean out your closet and make room for your holiday shopping finds, now’s your chance. The 2024 Clothing the G.A.P. (Generations, Ages & People) holiday drive is underway, and it’s the perfect opportunity to donate your gently used clothing for a good cause.

The drive began on Monday, and donations are being accepted at the Rosa Jackson Community Center, located at 1211 Maynard Street in Macon. The center is beautifully decorated for the holidays, and you can drop off your donations through Friday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Clothing the G.A.P. is a charitable holiday service project that supports the following initiatives:

  • Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Pi Sigma Chapter’s “Project S.O.F.T. (Something Our Feet Treasure) Shoes
  • Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Omega Omega Chapter’s “The AKA – Ruby Dunn Jacket Bank” and “The Enhance Our Environment Initiative”
  • Prince Hall Affiliated Masons Square Lodge #348 “Clothing Bank”

The donated clothing will be given away on December 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
