UPDATE: Man arrested for fatal shooting at Green Meadows Apartments in Macon

Investigators identified the victim as 26-year-old Keshon Knolton. The next of kin has been notified. The second victim was released from the hospital.

(UPDATED: 12/13/2024): A man was arrested for the fatal shooting that happened on December 8 at Green Meadows Apartments on Log Cabin Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested 24-year-old James Louis Chappell of Byron. Chappell was taken into custody near the 100 Block of Arizona Avenue in Warner Robins.

Chappell was wanted in connection with the death investigation on Log Cabin Drive which occurred on December 8. Chappell is being charged with murder.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is dead and a teenager is injured a fatal shooting on Sunday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal shooting happened at Green Meadows Apartments, located at 3800 block of Log Cabin Drive. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center at 1:51 a.m. on December 8.

Deputies found a 26-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound and a 17-year-old male who had suffered from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics brought both victims to a medical facility for treatment. The 26-year-old man died from his injuries. According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the name of the victim will not be released until next of kin is notified. The 17-year-old victim is in stable condition.
