Fatal traffic accident under investigation on Jeffersonville Road
A fatal crash on Jeffersonville Road claimed the life of a Twiggs County resident, as authorities urge witnesses to come forward with information.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Wednesday morning on Jeffersonville Road near Finneydale Drive.
According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:25 a.m. when the driver of a Dodge Caravan, traveling westbound, lost control and struck a semi-truck parked in the center turning lane. The truck, which was facing east, had been stopped due to mechanical issues. Its driver was inside the hood of the cab at the time of the collision and suffered from minor injuries.
The driver of the van, identified as D’Mya Clark, 44, of Twiggs County, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed that Clark’s next of kin have been notified.
