Dr. Dallemand Speaks Out After Gun Found on Campus
A Howard High School 9th grader is in custody tonight, after Bibb County Campus Police found him with an unloaded gun at school.
A student alerted a teacher about the weapon around 9am. The school went into a code red, and Bibb County Deputies responded to the scene.
Dr. Dallemand’s two children attend Howard Middle School. He was on his way to speak at career day. He calls Thursday’s incident unfortunate.
“[It’s] Extremely , extremely concerning. I want to make sure my son and daughter are safe when they go to school, and I want the same for every other parent. And so this is a matter of concern to me,” says Dallemand.
According to David Gowen, Director of Risk Management of Bibb County Schools, an extensive search revealed a .22 caliber gun.
“We hope students never bring a weapon to school, but if they do we won’t tolerate that,” says Gowen.
