Suspected Robber Shot To Death On Pursley Street In Macon
An attempted robber who was shot while breaking into an apartment unit in Macon, has been identified.
Police say 50-year-old Jackie Fort was shot to death by the tenants he was trying to rob at Pursley Court Apartments.
Bibb county Coroner Leon Jones says it happened around 10:15 Thusday evening.
Fort was pronounced dead on the scene. No word yet on if the man lived there, or was visiting. The case is still under investigation.
The two residents were not injured.
In a release, police say Fort had several prior records of being arrested, including being booked in jail 24 times, 9 of which, were property related crimes.
