Forsyth church serving as evacuation center, giving away supplies to Hurricane Milton evacuees

Maynard Baptist Church is a designated center for Hurricane Milton evacuees.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) —  Maynard Baptist Church in Forsyth is a designated American Red Cross center for Hurricane Milton evacuees, and they’re providing people with essentials they may have left behind.

The church is also collecting items evacuees will need such as blankets and pillows, deodorant and paper towels and shampoo.

Lead Pastor Matthew Bishop says the church is the farthest north of the designated Red Cross centers in Middle Georgia. As of Wednesday morning, they’d received two evacuees.

The church is located at 1195 Juliette Road in Forsyth.
