EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Power outages are still affecting thousands of Middle Georgia residents following Hurricane Helene. On Tuesday, the Dodge County Farmers market helped struggling families get food and water.

Several local businesses came together for the Hurricane Relief Food Truck Rally at the Dodge County Courthouse in Eastman, looking to support those in Dodge and surrounding counties who were most impacted by the storm last Friday. Many owners say they want residents who are still without power and water, as well as the linemen hard at work to restore it, to know that they sympathize with them and want to help.

Chains like Shells Seafood Restaurant offered discounted prices to walk up customers, while Pit Crew BBQ & Catering offered free plates and collected donations to send to Telfair County, where more than 3,000 homes remained without power as of Tuesday. The food truck rally lasted from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
