Man shot on Mercer University Drive, suspect in custody

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was arrested for shooting someone on Saturday morning, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a residence within the 3600 block of Mercer University Drive at 3:26 a.m. on September 28.

Deputies found a 37-year-old male who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by paramedics for treatment.

No one else was injured during the incident. The victim is in stable condition.

Deputies arrested 59-year-old Victor Michelle Brown. The weapon involved in the shooting was recovered. Brown was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Brown is charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, four counts of first-degree cruelty to children, and reckless conduct. Brown’s bond has been denied.
