Macon Kicks Off Mayors’ Christmas Motorcade
Wednesday the city of Macon got an early start collecting donations for the Mayors’ Christmas Motorcade. The Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency is heading up the tradition of accepting presents for children of Central State Hospital in Milledgeville.
“We’re so excited because we’re able to give back to the community in Milledgeville and the hospital working with all the children and the patients there. This is a great opportunity for us to raise money and to bring all of these gifts to patients out there at Christmas time,” said Don Druitt, Macon-Bibb County EMA Director.
Mayors from all over Middle Georgia help gather donations. Organizers are asking for necessity items like socks, slippers, and other toiletries. They say board games are also a big hit.
