Competitors Show Up for The Georgia Golden Olympics

Competitors hit the track and pool today in a special event aimed at promoting wellness in older adults.

The Georgia Golden Olympics is a chance for men and women 50 and older to compete in different skill levels.

Contestants say these games keep them in shape and gives them a chance to show off their competitive sides.

“I love it. Unfortunately, a lot of us are at an age where we lose close friends and other people that we know don’t stay in shape, and it becomes quite a divergence of a lifestyle…so this has also been a great chance for me to get out and meet some new people,” says Larry Woods.

The Golden Olympics brought competitors from all over the state to Warner Robins.

The games continue tonight and wrap up on Saturday.
