Bibb County Leaders to Discuss Truancy, Parental Responsibility

Leaders from across Bibb County are coming together this afternoon to announce their plan to deal with truancy. They will discuss also parental responsibility.  With the recent outbreak of violence and crime involving local teens, many in the community, including Macon Police leaders, have insisted that parents should be a positive influence on their children.

The Department of Family and Children Services, Bibb County Public Schools, and Commissioner Lonzy Edwards are among the agencies and leaders coming together to explain their strategies.

Their news conference is scheduled for 2pm at the the Bibb County Courthouse. We’ll bring you their comments tonight on 41 NBC News at 6.
