9/11 Stone Travels to RAFB
Hundreds of service men and women from Robins Air force Base spent Friday morning remembering the attack on the Pentagon.
A stone from the 9/11 attack made its way to the Museum of Aviation. Onlookers saluted the piece of history as it passed by.
Civilians and military personnel say watching the artifact arrive took them back to that fateful day ten years ago.
“This is a very nice reminder for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice that day and were in those buildings,” says base employee Greg Belozier.
Captain Matthew Quilliams agrees, “It kind of unites all of us again even though it’s been 10 years down the road. I was just a kid back then, but it’s nice to know we’re all in the same boat.”
