Police Chief Burns Makes Recommendations on Teen Violence

Police Chief Mike Burns says it’ll take money and more resources to prevent teens from getting involved in crime.

He also asked Macon City Council to expand the current teen curfew to target kids 17 years old and younger.

The Public Safety Committee is looking to create a sub-committee of 9 people. It would include law enforcement officials, city and county leaders, and a few concerned citizens.

Chief Burns has a similar plan. His plan involves the school system and bringing in retired officers who still have certification.
