Two Macon Teens Shot Near School Bus Stop

According to a Macon Police news release, two 16-year olds were shot at a bus stop in Macon.

The news release says the teenagers were waiting to catch their school bus when a vehicle drove by slowly, firing shots. It happened around 6:40 this morning at the corner of Virginia Drive and Storey Drive.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says one teen remains in critical condition. He was shot in the chest and the arm. The other teen was shot in the leg and is in stable condition.

Muir Ferrier lives on the corner of Virginia and Storey, and says the boy who was shot in the chest and arm crawled up to his front porch for help after the shooting.

Ferrier is a retired Army combat medic, and immediately began to dress the boy’s wounds. He says he didn’t see an exit wound, so he figured the bullet was still inside the boy, so he told him to lay still until the paramedics came to help.

Ferrier also said the place where the boys were shot, was not the actual bus stop area. He says the bus stop is the next intersection down from where he lives.

UPDATE:

Bibb County deputies have found the abandoned car reported to be involved in the Virginia Avenue shooting.

Just before 9am, a 1999 silver Honda Civic was discovered at the dead end of Owens Street.
