16-Year-Old Macon Boy Dead after Shooting at Party

A 16 year-old Macon boy has died after being shot at a party this weekend.  A gunshot wound to the head took the life of Arquentris Fountain.

Macon Police say the shooting happened at a strip mall on Eisenhower Parkway Saturday night. A gunman opened fire, shooting Fountain and 19 year-old Kyrod Butts along with 18 year-old Devin Williams as they were leaving a party. Butts and Williams’ injuries were not life threatening. Macon Police Information Officer Jami Gaudet says preventing these incidents starts with parents.

“If your child is hanging out with people who you deem unsavory–the kind of people that you don’t want your children hanging out with and you say nothing and you do nothing– then you’re part of the problem,” Gaudet says.
