Autism Conference Held At Medical Center Educates Parents On Treatment and Nutrition For Patients
Parents and experts met at the Medical Center of Central Georgia today to talk about different ways to care for children and adults with autism, ADHD or other behavioral issues
The group, Central Georgia Autism organized the event to educate parents about treatment options and nutritional information for people with these issues. Melanie Peacock Shell, a speech and language pathologist at the Medical Center says the main purpose of the conference was to give comfort to parents dealing with ASD or ADHD.
“There’s hope out there, and we hope that we can provide that for parents through our group, and through providing treatments that are appropriate for each child,” she says.
The conference today was possible through the annual fundraiser “Cocktails and Cupcakes” sponsored by the local business Karats and Keepsakes.
