Uniform Closet Offer Clothes, School Supplies, and Hope for Students and Families

Tucked in the basement of the Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church in Milledgeville, nearly 1,000 bags sit waiting to bring a bit of relief for a family this school year.

The ‘Uniform Closet’ offers clothing for students who are required to follow a specific dress code while in school. Most dress codes require students wear khaki or pressed pants and a polo shirt. But for many families, money is tight and clothes are hard to come by.

The bags are waiting for students of all ages to enjoy, and offer more than just clothes. Some are full of supplies like notebooks, pens and pencils, and even math books.

But the best part about the bags, is everything is free to those who stop out to get one. One lucky college student will also win a free laptop.

The bags will be handed out to anyone who needs a little bit of help this upcoming school year on Saturday from noon until 3:00p.m. at Bonner Park in Milledgeville.

The bags will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The event is being organized by T.H.P. Productions and Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church.
