“It’s always special. This club means a lot to me” said Coach Hatcher on Monday evening.  “It helped me get my start back in 1991. I still have a lot of friends that are here. Get an opportunity to see my family; share some fellowship and some stories. So, I’m just appreciative that they invite me back every year, but its a lot of fun and its just a great club that does a lot for football here in the middle Georgia area.”

The Samford Head Football Coach went on to say “I mentioned all the mascot logos I wore during my career as a player and coach, but I’m always very proud and very quick to tell people I’m a Macon Georgia native. This place means a lot to me. A lot of good people that have helped me along the way that still live here and I’m just very appreciative to have the opportunity to come back and see them at least one time each and every year.”

Coach Hatcher is the older cousin of ACE football Head Coach Keith Hatcher, who is the father of Gryphons QB Ace Hatcher. Coach Hatcher also has a son who once played at Samford under his father, but now plays Quarterback at the University of Oklahoma.
