Three families receive keys to new homes at Macon Area Habitat for Humanity dedication ceremony
"This is a blessing, and everybody came together to bless more than just my family," Jamilla Cooper said. "It's a blessing. It's a dream come true."

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three families received the keys to their new homes on Tuesday, becoming first-time homeowners as Macon Area Habitat for Humanity held a Home Dedication Ceremony for all three families at one of the new homes on Duncan Avenue.
Multiple prayers and various gifts from the community were given to the Cooper, McCoy and Beasley families as they thanked everyone who was involved with the project.
“God is good,” Jamilla Cooper said. “This is a blessing, and everybody came together to bless more than just my family. It’s a blessing. It’s a dream come true.”
“If anything happens to me, my kids have something to fall back on, something that they can call home, and they won’t have to worry about going out wondering where they’re going to lay their head, this, that, and the third,” she continued. “So, it’s a goal, it’s one of my main top goals. I thank God every day.”
According to a news release, the home on Duncan Avenue was also part of Macon Habitat’s 2024 Blitz Build Project and was built in half the time of a traditional build. The home features five bedrooms and two and half bathrooms. All three homes are the final ones built with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act from Macon-Bibb County and a matching grant from The Peyton Anderson Foundation.
