Local non-profits to hold Ice Cream with Dads

Attendees can purchase treats from Macon Water Ice. The event will be August 24 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Violence Prevention and Macon Mental Health Matters are hosting ‘Ice Cream with Dads’ at the playground pavilion in Amerson River Park.

The event is open to fathers, grandfathers, and male guardians who want to celebrate fatherhood.

The event is one of many that are being held across the nation by a group called The Active Dad.

Macon Violence Prevention Coordinator, Jeremy Grissom, says The Active Dad holds online meetings for fathers and father figures to discuss the issues they face, learn solutions, and find support.
