Elaine Lucas Defeats Chris Horne in Council Race

Elaine Lucas celebrated her win with friends and family at her headquarters in downtown Macon.

Incumbent Lucas wins the race with 51.9% of the votes. First time contender Chris Horne walked away with 48.1% of the votes today.

Lucas celebrated her win with friends and family at her headquarters in downtown Macon.

She says she’s ready to help lead the city for another four years and recognizes there’s still plenty of work to be done.

“There’s a lot of work to do. The numbers show there’s a lot of work to do, and there’s a lot of people who obviously want to see some other things going on. we’re going to work as hard as we can to move Ward 1 forward,” says Lucas.
