New app to combat homelessness in Macon-Bibb County
While many people are still battling homelessness in Macon-Bibb County, there may be a new solution on an app.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb County is working toward its goal of having no more unhoused people in the city. While many people are still battling homelessness in Macon-Bibb County, a new app may provide a solution.
“A housing first approach with a person center and a data performing solution that works,” he said.
The new app allows people that are unhoused to be connected to resources, such as food pantries and shelters.
“We’re working toward the same goals,” he said. “Making sure homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.”
Hall shared the data he’s collected through the app over the past year and a half with commissioners Tuesday morning and what still needs to be done.
“What is unclear is how many affordable housing units we need,” Hall said.
Whether you’re a veteran, youth, or fleeing from domestic violence, he said the goal is to make sure homelessness doesn’t last more than six months. Hall said the app has seen success in Houston, Texas and Kansas City, Missouri.
