Movie filmed in Macon hits theaters nationwide July 4
The movie is titled, "Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot."

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A movie is being previewed in Macon at The Douglass Theatre in downtown Macon before its nationwide debut.
It’s called, “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.”
Writer and Producer Rebekah Weigel says it’s set in rural Texas and is inspired by a true story.
The movie, partially filmed in Macon, follows leaders of a small church who spark a movement after members of their congregation adopt 77 foster children.
The movie hits theaters July 4.
