Lady Tee’s Cakes n’ More celebrates grand opening in Sandersville

"I traveled city to city selling cakes and wanting everybody to try my desserts, and people loved them," owner Catina Dixon said.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Lady Tee’s Cakes n’ More celebrated its grand opening on Friday.

The new bakery, located at 132 East Church Street in Sandersville, offers a variety of sweets and more items.

Owner Catina Dixon gave an emotional speech, talking about how her mother was her inspiration, how baking is her passion and how she loves putting a smile on people’s faces.

“I traveled city to city selling cakes and wanting everybody to try my desserts, and people loved them, and it just inspired me to keep growing and advancing, until it consumed my whole house,” she said. “And that’s when I had to open up a store front, so I appreciate each and every one of you guys being here, and y’all continuing to support me, and this is only the beginning. I have dreams, major dreams, that are going to be advancing here.”

She says some of those dreams include ice cream and coffee. She also wishes to be able to donate one day and eventually open another shop in Laurens County, because it’s where most of her clients came from.

Recipes are rotated out every week. The shop is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
