Coroner: 26-year-old man dead after drowning in pool in Houston County

The drowning occurred in a swimming pool in Elko on Sunday.

ELKO, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 26-year-old man is dead after drowning in a pool in Houston County, according to Houston County Coroner James Williams.

The man drowned in a swimming pool in the 2400 block of Elko Road in Elko around 3:45 p.m.

According to the Coroner, the man was was pulled from the pool by first responders and transported to Houston Healthcare in Perry. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The man has been identified as Ariel Jones of Columbus, Ohio.
