Grand Jury Indicts Milledgeville Man for Patel Murder
A grand jury indicted a man who allegedly killed convenient store owner
Danny Patel.
Patel owned and operated Lina’s Food Store for more than a decade off of Irwinton Road in Milledgeville.
Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office have been working the case since 2009, now they’re putting the missing puzzle pieces together.
Sheriff Bill Massey says, “Jarvis Reeves who has been the focus of our investigation since the night of and the day after the homicide.”
Detective Deidre Byrd says witnesses came forward and gave police what they needed to get an indictment.
“We’re just relieved that he will get punished for what he did…I just hope that he gets the punishment that he deserves,” said Patel’s son Purvish.
The murder happened back on July 15, 2009.
Reeves is currently serving a 17 year sentence at Hancock State Prison for two armed robberies at J and P’s food store.
He is being held at the Baldwin County Jail on murder charges.
