Little Free Library Opens New Location In Byron

BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Jailhouse Park Little Free Library recently opened in Byron, becoming Peach County’s fifth Little Free Library.

The Little Free Library is open to the community and is free of cost.

Cherie Giles, Library Steward with Little Free Library, says the free library is important because it helps promote literacy for all ages.

“That’s what this whole thing is about,” she said. “Especially for me, is the importance of literacy, the importance of having books available for all ages. And so having this again with the 24/7 access, it allows those that normally can’t get to the library but maybe come to the park to play, they’ll have a chance to grab a book out of the box.”

The library is located at 107 Jailhouse Alley. To find a Little Free Library near you, click here.

Giles encourages community members to contribute to the library.
